MINUTES OF THE CASTAWAY KIDS

                                        March 10, 2008

The meeting was held on March 10, 2008 at the home of Larry and Maris Kalmbach
with the following attendees:  Elizabeth Rainwater, Doug Marshall, Jim Bomberg, Lenny
Atlee, Frank Ross, Charles and Jeanne Smith, Donna Malcolm, Darlene and Bob
Scozzafave, Dave Keilholtz, Fred and Penny Wegener, Larry and Maris Kalmbach, Mark
Mulligan, Erindira Morales, Susan Schauf, and Anna Sparks-Meyer.

Mark Mulligan reported on the Castaway Kids' formation of a Mexican non-profit
corporation.       We can now operate as a non-profit corporation in Mexico.  A Mexican
bank account will be set up in the name   of Castaway Kids Mexico, A.C.

Dave  Keilholtz reported on the progress of the small park in Fatima.  The volunteers will
start work on the small park on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.  The plan is to move
previously used playground equipment to the park and refurbish it.  New equipment will
be purchased to supplement the old equipment.  The group has solicited the use of two
portable generators and has rented a jackhammer.  A huge thank you on behalf of the
Castaway Kids goes to Lenny and Loriann Atlee for their generous donation of
$1000.00 U. S. Dollars to fund the project.

Plans for a second park which will house a community center are proceeding.  Mark
Mulligan is preparing a presentation to the Guaymas City Council.  A committee has
been formed to assist with the compilation of documentation needed for the
presentation,  including a summary of the history of the Castaway Kids, projected land
acquisition costs, plans for development of the park, a business plan, and future
projected needs for the barrio of Fatima.                                                     The
committee members are: Mark Mulligan, Susan Schauf, Larry Kalmbach, Frank Ross,
Dave Keilholtz and Jim Bomberg.   Chuck Kaufman, who is our official photographer, will
prepare a pictorial overview of the Castaway Kids' past projects.

Frank Ross gave a presentation on the steps which the Castaway Kids need to take in
order to secure future funding.   Frank enumerated several points regarding the need for
a mission statement, business plan, maintenance projections and miscellaneous
activities.

Anna Sparks-Meyer attended on behalf of the Art League.  Anna introduced us to the Art
League and their involvement in the instruction of Mexican Art League Members.  Anna
has requested that the Castaway Kids sponsor the Art League.  The members in
attendance were enthusiastic.  The Castaway Kids will seek legal advice.   The
Castaway Kids will notify Anna of their decision as soon as possible.

Susan Schauf spoke with Jamie Swickard from Alamos about future fund raising events.
The conversation included the possibility of the production of a future CD featuring
Mark Mulligan and Ramon Alcantar as well as an event that would enable the Castaway
Kids to raise money for future projects.

Mark Mulligan informed the group that he has enlisted a second lady in Fatima to
distribute donated items from her home.  Andrea is a mother of nine and lives near the
water tower.  She is a lovely lady who makes the best of a sad situation.  This
opportunity will help her and others who live in the barrio.

The Christmas Party committees are still forming.  We must determine our plans for the
Christmas Party prior to the volunteers leaving for the summer.  Discussion will resume
at our next meeting.  If anyone wants to be involved with the Christmas party, please
contact Maris Kalmbach at 226-1664.

Our next meeting will be at the home of Larry and Maris Kalmbach on Monday, April 14,
2008, at 10:00 am.

Respectfully submitted,

Maris Kalmbach
