MINUTES OF THE CASTAWAY KIDS

                                              December 1, 2007

The following people were present at the home of Doug and Carla Marshall:  Susan Schauf, Lauriann
& Lenny Atlee, Chuck Kaufman, Linda Rose, Becky Lupo, Fred Wegener, Kay DiNunzio, Jim
Bomberg, Judy Atkinson, Pete Spencer, Jan M., Jackie V., Doug & Carla Marshall, Katie P , and
Larry and Maris Kalmbach.

Those who attended gave a body count for attending the party which would be over 25 with requests to
ask other volunteers and friends who might have bilingual speaking skills.  Much discussion ensued
with the following topics:

Decoration Committee: 6 pinatas purchased with candy coming from the states.  Placement will be
determined with safety issues being the primary concern.  Elsa will help determine where to place the
pinatas.  Elsa was also invited to attend the party which is her plan.

All volunteers are to attend Sunday, December 9th at 12:00 to help with the setup.  No swimming
signage will be displayed at the party to deter unfortunate incidents re: ocean or pools.  Decision
made to allow no playing whatsoever in the water.

A big thank you to Pete Spencer for his donation re: the four buses and propinas (tips) to the bus
drivers in excess of $400.00.

Cheers to Lauriann Atlee for an unbelievable amount of hours and work re: gifts, sorting and
organizing the backpacks.  Thank you to those volunteers who wrapped, packed and helped with the
backpacks.    The buses will be at the Escuela Secundaria in Fatima by noon to transport the children
and adults to the party by 1:00.

Upon arrival of our guests at 1:00 we will greet them with gifts of bubbles and a ball to loosen them up
and get them acclimated to the party surroundings.  We will then attend to feeding them hamburgers
and hot dogs and all the trimmings donated by Doug and Carla Marshall.

Doug Marshall, Larry Kalmbach, Linda Rose and Jim Bomberg have volunteered to help cook.  More
may be needed to carry food for the children, etc.  Following the meal we will begin the pinatas in age
related groups.  At 2:30 Santa will make his entrance........with Santa's elves the families will come and
receive their gifts.  The backpacks are grand and are the nicest gifts around.  I believe this will be one
of the best Christmas' ever!  We will present the moms of the group with a gift.  Scarves will be made
as gifts for adults and Elsa.

The next meeting will be at Susan Schauf's home at 10:00am on Dec. 29th.  Please come and help
wrap up and plan for the park.

Respectfully submitted,

Maris  Kalmbach
